I picked up a 1998 seadoo speedster and want to clean up the gel coat. Looking for what people recommend using in regards to a one step process is possible

It really depends on how far gone the gel coat is. You would be surprised at how far you can bring back a finish, but it may take more than a one step process to do. At the very least, I’d start with a decent marine polish and then follow it up with a coat of wax though.

Typically to get that deep gloss back you need to wet sand, heavy cut polish, medium cut then glaze and finally wax.

If you’re stuck on doing a one-step process, Meguiars makes a cleaner/wax that I’ve had pretty good luck with, but I did a lot of compounding on mine before getting there, and still wound up going back and using a Starbrite Polish before another coat of wax.

I just bought some 3M 1 step polish/wax at the local boat supply store that works great. It was about $30 for the bottle and it works great on a buffer at about 1500-2000 rpm with the recommended foam pad.
