looking for a good summer vacation lake any suggestions!!!

I am looking for a good lake to take my family and my doo's. I live on long island ny and would like to keep the trip around five hours.

What about the finger lakes in New York. My family was there once on vacation years ago. I didn't ride on the water, but the lakes are very large and deep.
