Looking for a gas strut for 2000 challenger for rear engine cover????

Anyone have luck finding or know any cross reference ones i have a sea doo challenger 2000 and need one support dont really wanna spend 62$ plus shipping just seeing if anyone has any other options??? Thanks alot!
 
I just replaced the rear hatch struts on my boat this spring and ordered them online from SPD Hardware. See this thread:

My boat is different from yours, so your strut may be different from mine. All you need is the length of the strut fully extended, the compressed length and then the charge (amount of force required to compress the strut in psi). When I replaced mine I went up on the force by 20 psi (10 on each strut) to help hold the hatch up better.

You should be able to take one off and read the numbers off of them. If they are OEM, I'll bet they came from SPD like mine. Another option would be to take it into any auto parts store and they can order some for you if not in stock. These struts are very universal and should be easy to find for less then $60 that Seadoo wants to charge. I think I paid about $20 for each strut.

Thanks for the info ill give it a shot, i dont know where to find the amount of pressure on mine or specs online for this but ill probably go like you did a little higher ive been having to have someone pull the latch as i pull the lever to get it up.... sure will be nice not to have to do that anymore thanks

Also attwood the manufacture that you see selling alot of stuff at walmart make replacement also i see
