Anyone have a cheap Verizon phone...

Daughters iPhone 4s is pretty well destroyed. Just need a hold-over until August which is when she is eligible for an update.

To do the update now cost more than double...
Let me know,,,

Thanks...

If if it has the typical cracked glass like every iPhone I see out there you can fix it for like $20, there is actually a kiosk in one of our malls that fixes them, and also a few cell phone stores do it. You can buy the parts on Ebay for dirt cheap with the tools and there are hundreds of videos on Youtube on how to do it.

Here's another trick which may work. My buddy (not sure if it was with his iPhone or not), added a line to his account and got the new phone then swapped the SIM cards. It was cheaper for him to pay the monthly bill(he got the cheapest plan) on the broken phone, then to pay for the upgrade as in your case. Shady, yes, illegal, no, you just have to know how to "work" the system. I think the store actually suggested him to do this.

Her front and rear glass are both broken.. Rather dramatically LOL

Phone works fine. I will look at glass replacement as compared to the link provided and weigh the options.

I have done the add a line thing as well back when both kids had their phones destroyed within the same week... Neither was their fault but same end result...

Thanks..

To clarify,,,

With the iPhone, her screen is all busted up but the screen works. I ASSUME that means I only need to replace the glass which I believe is the outermost piece that we see/touch. Is that correct?

Just search replacement screen Iphone 4S on ebay. It's the digitizer, you can also get the back glass for $7, just search the same thing but back glass.

The get her an Otter Box or Ballistic case.

I've fixed the screen on my iPhone before. It's not too bad to do.

BUT.... I got away from Verizon about 6~7 years ago, because they are phone Nazi's !!!! Back when the color screens, and MP3 players were the rage.... they would cripple phones, and then make you buy the options. Last I checked... they still do that, by disabling the GPS and other features. I remember a friend with a Razr, needed a charge while over at my house, and it was just a mini USB. But if you plugged in a generic cable, the little front screen said... "Not an authorized charging device"". (And the phone wouldn't charge)

Anyway.... I have a bunch of phones sitting at the house... but since they are SIM phones... I don't think they will work on Verizon.

After doing additional research,,,

You really can't replace JUST the front glass.

Officially the glass and digitizer are two separate parts. But,, they are bonded together and it requires such a heat to separate them that it destroys the digitizer. So I need to buy a cheap back and a fair priced digitizer/front glass assembly. Can get it all for about 40 bucks.

Front glass is available and is cheap, just not a good answer as you really can't replace it without the digitizer...

if you can talk her into a flip phone (good luck) :) I have a couple laying around that i'd send out for no cost, just shipping

if you had a sim card provider, I also have a nice window's phone for $50 :)

have you checked CL ?
