having a hard time finding this locally - is there another brand/equivalent I can use for the jet pump (oil change)?

gasket maker?......

Go to your local auto supply shop and look for any brand of "gasket maker", preferably one that will tolerate petroleum products. But even one of silicone will suffice. You only need to make sure you have a dab of sealant on the "0" ring to seal.........it's not that important. I think I used vasoline on mine.

I guess I wasn't much of a help. I have never really had trouble finding loctite or permatex so I had no idea there were alternatives. If you are really in a bind you could always find an online retailer.

"0" ring.......

It's not so much the type gasket sealer as it is the ability to put the cap on without twisting, pinching or binding the "0" ring. It's more of a way to help slip it on with the cone, than it is to actually seal it.

I think there must be some kind of sponsership between Bombardier and Loctite. I only use the Loctite thread sealer. I've never used a better thread locker than Loctite, but all the other products by them, is just buying the name............
