I have a 97 GTS the ski runs great but after doing a spin or starting to accelerate for the first time it acts like the ski is cavitating. At wot the motor rpms are there but there is no go until a little later. If I ease into the throttle it takes off somewhat better. It has a new wear ring but I am wondering if it is sucking air at the pump and hull, any thoughts to this?

Thank you, I have read that post but this is not just a second or two time period. It lasts a long time. I read another post that talked about a seal between the hull and the pump housing. When I replaced the wear ring mine didn't have a seal and the housing popped off the hull quite easily. I am thinking that this lack of a seal is causing my problem but am unsure.
