Hello all

I bought a 97 challenger 1800 about a month ago. It has a few small issues, but nothing major yet. We took it out last Saturday, and it ran great for about an hour. We stopped to change skiers and when i took off the left engine died at about 2500 rpms. It would start back up and run fine, but it did it 5 or 6 times. It sounded like it was flooding. Any ideas

Thanks

I would start with a carb rebuild... then check the fuel select valve. When they get old... they leak.

Does it still have the gray tempo fuel lines? if so then change them to black auto line with an in-line filter. Make sure you change or clean the in-carb filters when doing the rebuild as the Dr suggests.

mmmmmmmmm, they put the gray one on skis but not boats....interesting. Do you know the reason why?

Nope. Just something I've noticed.

With that said... my Islandia has USCG fuel hose in it. BUT... it's not "Tempo" hose... it's a rubber hose with a semi-ridged internal hose in it. They don't decay... but they are a total bastard to get over the barbed fittings.
