Leaking rave valve near water box-need advise

I have several questions that I have not found answers on the internet. Please forgive my ignorance as I am (at best) average in mechanical ability.
1) Is there any harm to just leave it leak as is?
2) When removing from water box, does it unscrew, or do I just twist & yank it off?
3)Since I only have just a moderate mechanical skill, should I consider spending $20 for a new billow and replace it myself, or go to ebay and spend $50 on a used (functioning) valve/regulator?

Disconnect the hoses going to the control valve. It will unscrew by hand. When you go to reinstall, use some teflon tape and don't overtighten. IT is plastic... be gentle. Not even hand tight.... gently snug it.

Likely the bellows is fine but will be leaking out of the bottom section of the bellows because the clamp rusts away. I use an O-ring when I re-install the bellows. It's very simple. Be sure to connect the hoses properly when you re-install. Good Luck !!

I had the bright idea one time about installing an o-ring in this area. :) Disregard the white circle. This is just how it looks and it isn't suppose to come out of the housing like this. :D

Thank you for your response. I am a little confused, however. You say the bellows are likely fine. Are you saying the leak is simply from the steel clamp deteriorating and not from a hole in the bellows?

good news,,bad news. good news is that I have regulator put back together and on the waterbox. Bad news is I forgot if the short tube goes on the top or bottom of regulator. Please help

I warned you. :D This is a 2003 GTX DI. Looks like the main feed line comes in the bottom and the small line that goes to the exhaust pipe comes out of the top. I'm pretty sure that is the way they go but you gotta verify. Good Luck

Download, for free, the parts manual, mine showed where the hoses go , so it will help put it back together. The service manual may have the same info. both are free to download.
