My 2002 sportster did not come with a ladder. Other than drilling holes for a fixed ladder does anyone have any ideas. I just bought this, had I out one time.. what a blast!

They have some rope style boarding ladders that hook onto the tow point, and I’ve seen some clamp-on ladders, but I think the cleanest install is to just drill the holes and bolt on one of the retractable ladders...

Thanks Jeremy, I will try the ladder first, if that doesn't work I will try the permanent ladder. Happy boating!

Good idea. I had a rope ladder many years ago on a small sailboat (similar freeboard) and it sucked. Hanging off the winch meant there was still quite a step to get over the top, and, the flexibility of the rope meant that as soon as you put your weight on any of the rungs the thing would push into/under the hull, meaning it was a slightly inverted climb with your toes crammed against the hull.

All that to say I'd never bother with a rope ladder again.
