I recently came into possession of a 1991 XP. I was not given any instructions or owners manual for it. This is my first time owning a pwc. I cannot figure out the kill switch at all. I got a bunch of various kill switch keys on a stretchy wire but I have no idea what to use or where the kill switch is. Can someone please post a picture or explain to me where it is? An owners manual would also be very helpful but, I have not been able to locate one yet.

Thanks

Usually the kill switch is located on a panel below the handlebars in front of the driver. It is a post with a depressable button on top. The key is a tight fitting rubber cap that is pressed on top of the post to hold the button down in order to start and operate the ski. The stretchy wire is attached to your life vest so that in case you fall off, the engine will shut off when the cap is pulled off the top of the post. You can find the shop manual for your ski at seadoomanuals.net

Thanks Artr, I already had downloaded that manual, I was looking for the owner/operator manual, if there is one. I don't think this machine has been run for a couple of years so, it will be an interesting project.

If the ski has been sitting and had unknown history the service manual will be your best friend.

There's many threads on here about what to do and in what order when you get a new to you Sea-Doo.. Search around and see what you dig up. The more info the better and it's good to do things in an order that keeps you from superfluous parts throwing
