key, Dess intermittent failure

I thought I fixed this problem using an eraser on key and dess post. Worked for a while, now it's deader than ever. It beeps intermittently also, however has rarely beeped at all in the last 2 seasons. Any suggestions how to go forward with this issue?

I'm not sure where you are located but I can test for communication to MPEM with my computer, and test current, and program new DESS keys in Raleigh, NC 27615.

Thanks for the offer, however I saw a GREAT video on youtube showing how to test key, DESS, and start switch. If I done everything right, I figured out it was my start switch. Instead of hearing a beep or buzz on my ohm meter, there were a bunch of numbers in the 1250 range showing up, so I hope that meant switch was bad.The red button has been worn through for years, so I believe the elements got the best of it. Ordered new one. coming in next 2 days. We'll see if this is the fix.

Well, I connected new start/stop switch...IT WORKS! For now, it is just laying on the counsel above the fuel selector. DOES ANYBODY KNOW HOW TI INSTALL IT THROUGH THE STEERING COUNSEL?
