I have been having a lot of problems with my 1996 GTX and most i have gotten fixed, but there is one that has been pretty consistent. It will start up great when it is out of water and then when i unload it from the trailer it will start great and run. Then i will take it out right after untrailering it and go full speed or 20-30mph and it still runs great. But after that if i let it idle and float around for a few minutes (if i were waiting for a friend to get on it or w/e) it will start running crappy and die out, i restart it, and then it will die out when i hit full throttle and i have to choke it and give it the gas to start back up again. It will only start running good when i have restarted it several times and gunned it really hard to WOT and stayed at that for extended amounts of time. If i start to idle again the problems start again, what could be going on????

It almost sounds like the vent in the fuel tank is not working properly. Check it for debris or something blocking it. An easy way to check it too, is to open the tank filler cap at the time it does it to see if you hear a vacuum in the tank.

It might be a kinked hose, or a mud dauber nest in it. Check it first to be sure it is blocked. If it appears clear we'll try something else.

Follow the hoses from the top of the fuel tank to be sure none of the hoses are kinked. One hose will go to the front to vent the tank if I remember correctly on that model. You might be able to blow compressed air into it if it is blocked. Check to see if it has a one-way filter.
