keel guard or keel shield

I'm new to owning a boat. I purchased a 1995 Seadoo Speedster. It's inbreally good shape. I'm doing some cosmetic work on it. Hydro turf mats etc. I have a scrape on the keel and am going to have it repaired. I want to put on a keel guard but was told it would effect the performance/ stability of the boat. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Hi & welcome to the best Seadoo forum.
IMHO the difference the keel guard has will be minimal and you won't notice any difference in MPH. Go with whatever you like the best. Either one is a great idea for the average jet skier/boater.
