It runs fine for the most part. Kinda wants to die when at idle sometimes but besides that responds great. I am running Seadoo syn Oil with the oil injector blocked off. Ratio 50:1... When I bought it had not be ran for about 6 months.

Anything I should be worried about or is it normal?

Hey, welcome to the forum buddy. Open up the hood, and check if the ski you bought has the original grey fuel lines, as millions of people will tell you, there infamous for breaking apart and rotting inside, causing heck on your engine, and carbs. go get 1/4" fuel line, about 25 feet if i remember correctly, any auto fuel line will do, and replace them all. What it sounds like is the little filters in your dual carb setup, are probably gummed up with black crap ( from these lines and just time ). Open those carbs up ( if your mechanically inclined, which i hope so for your wallets sake ) and clean those little black mesh filters inside with carb cleaner. That would be a good place to start, otherwise it sounds like you got yourself a sick ski! the 787cc is a sick engine, it hauls.

hope that gets you started.

Ive heard also your supposed to mix 40:1, but im sure its all in preference.
 cam

Sorry should have said this earlier. About 6 months ago the carb was rebuilt, wear rings replaced and all the lines replaced(all the lines are black in the ski) Do you think it would have gummed up in that amount of time? The guy had all the fuel drained.

Do you think I am safe to take it for another ride. Maybe it will smoke less the second time around.

Ok update.. When I was messing with my seadoo my kind neighbors helped me out. They adjusted the carbs for me and now it starts much better and runs better. Smokes a little less. They said it looked like it was adjusted for break in..

But when you adjust the carbs you can lean it out too much and burn it out right?

Do you guys think I should get someone to give it a look over and make any adjustments? If so anyone know someone in Tampa area?

what do spark plugs look like?

What do the plugs look like when you pull them?? Could tell you something as far as if it is running lean or rich. There is a post that helps you identify the problem according to what you plug looks like.

I am going to pull and replace the plugs when I get home later this week. Do you have a link to adjusting the carb?

get yourself a few NGK br8es, gap around 20-22, pull the airbox off, to help set the LSA/Hsa....THE LSA(LOW SPEED ADJUSTER, has 'T" adjuster)), should be set at 1, the hsa(should have black cap on it) set at 0. I think the "smoke" is from sitting so long, oil seeped by the seals, and into the journal cavity. A few rips of the throttle, you see it clear out. Also, while your in there, remove the black caps, and pull up on the center of the bellows. IF ANY restriction, remove the allen bolts, and pull the assy out, to inspect/clean the, whats called the RAVES....
