just picked a 95 hx with trailer for $1200, decent price? it has a rebuilt motor, after market exhaust, after market impellar, all new bearings on shaft, starts and runs out of water on old plugs, but needs new ones. a few things, the hull underneath where it V's needs to resealed from being beached, it isnt bad but i will most likely beach it my self and would rather reseal it and be ont the save side than leave it. where can i get yellow gel coat? also the choke broke again, the guy said that their is a plunger choke that works well any ideas? my seat is very small and narrow, seems like the 96 hx was a bit bigger or at least looks better, will it fit? oh yea and can i replace that pink boot between the seat and the body? Was curious as well if their is a cheap alternative that will work for a bit to paint the purple bumpers black? would bed liner spray work? Sorry for all the questions being all over the place, its my first jet ski, i have been into power sports my whole live, ( got 2 quads 04 z400, 06 raptor 700, 2 sleds 00 xcr800, 98 indy 500) decided to jump on the pwc band wagon and give it a try! Anyway i appreciate any advice and help toward any of my questions as well as tips. One more thing what plug do you guys recommend?

Hey...Probably a body shop can help with fiberglass and gel coating.
Plugs would be..NGK-BR8ES, and for the choke, i'd install a primer kit, where the choke goes...good luck

Seat is the same for all years of the HX.

Your stuck with the purple trim unless you install the 96 and up trim. You could paint it, but with the huge amount of abuse the bumpers get, you'll just end up with scraped up purple and black trim. Picture of 95 to 96 comparison.

Is that the optional rear boarding platform I see on there? That thing was hard to find and was also crazy expensive.

On congrats on this mean-sounding boat you've picked up! Welcome to the forum!

They recommend the "8"es, but 9's, little hotter plug, whats the elevation your at? Primer kit...ebay, dealership, parkeryamaha.com

I also have 2- 95 HX rocket ships. Does the 96 trim kit bolt right on to the 95?? I too want to "fade to black" and shed my purple skin. If the 96 kit bolts on, do you know where it can be purchased?? Thanks JPX!

Probably have to cruise ebay or salvage yards. Nice thing about black is that it doesn't quite fade as bad as the colored stuff.

The hulls and trims are the same between all years. I think the sponsons built into the rear trim are slightly different shape at the outer tips - but the mounts are the same.

Seriously, what were all the PWC manufacturers thinking in the 90s? The colors were from the 80s.

That trim is for an XP - completely different hull. So no, it work work.

HX has unique hull - long and narrow......and distinctive built in sponsons on the sides at the rear.

By the sounds of it you did great! I wouldnt really worry about the color if i was you, just my opinion. If your still looking for a place to fix the hull i would go to a fiberglass repair shop. Quick question, do all of your guages work? If they do are they accurate?
