Just an observation- Anyone ever have a good day with their ski-no breakdowns?

I am new here and have been reading posts, I know people post when they have questions about issues and they need advice. But, it sure seems like everyone spends more time fixing than riding?

Just wondering if anyone has some positive posts about a great day on the water?

One of my favorite days was when we took my sister and her son (he was 16) to the lake, they had never been on a seadoo. My son took his cousin out to wakeboard...while they were out it started to rain...no lightening...didn't stop the boys, but my sister was going nuts...its raining..aren't they coming back? It was a great day, the kids rode, used the tube, wakeboard, we grilled...it was awesome.

Good thread. Any day on the lake is a good day. Summer's getting short, enjoy it while you can.

I bought my stuff as projects... so, during the clean-up stage... the rides are less than perfect... but you have to take them out to figure out what's wrong. BUT... after that... they run great!!!

The best day out was father's day weekend last year. We went out to the point in Pittsburgh. The weather was beautiful, and we tied up at Station Square to have lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. (It was one of the few times we used the boat as a "Boat" and not as a big jetski)

I love those restaurants that have water access. My dad lives off the St. Johns river in Florida, on a canal. We take his boat to a place called Corky Bells. Great seafood.

I have a hat with a picture of a boat on the rocks......

the saying is "A bad day boating is better than a good day at work"

I live close to Lake Travis and go 2x a week or so just to blow off steam and take less fortunate friends out for soome relaxation. We have a Carlos and Charlies that you can tie up have some refreshment. It's been 3 weeks over 100 here so I try every opportunity I can. My bro-in-law came here for 4 days a week ago. I put 10:thumbsup: hrs on my skis then.

I have had my 1997 seadoo gsx 787 out about 10 times in the last month and have not had a problem yet. I bought it for 300 bucks because it "NEEDED AN ENGINE" the mechanic said got it home and has 150 lbs compression and NO SPARK "what a mechanic huh" put a 40 dollar coil on it and she fired right up. Has 58 hours and feels like riding a rocket on the water SO FAST . Every day we go out its a great day on the lake. Goin out tomorrow to lake huron with my parents. Dad has kidney and heart failure and they dont give hime long and hes only 38 and he has never rode a jet ski so im gonna take him out to have a blast for the day i hope all goes well!!!

We are just south of Dallas, haven't been to Lake Travis yet. My daughter goes to school in San Marcos, so we have thought about driving down and finding a place there to spend the weekend. What are some good places to put in on Lake Travis?

@ Brock1- Sorry to hear about your Dad...he is so young. My hubby had a stroke 30 days after turning 40...we bought the skis shortly after...you never know what is around the corner....so enjoy each day!

Any day out on the ski is a good one I have owned a ski for 3 years and only left the lake broken down 4 times at most even without the ski it's still a good day food sun and no work Is still a good old time

I'd like to maybe join you sometime. I'm in Husdon Bend!

I have yet to be stranded. Bad gas once caused me to not be able to go much above idle, and once I had a pinhole leak in the exhaust which dripped onto my stator causing a bad misfire. Both on my 97 GTX.

Needless to say, I have tons of times where everything's been fine and I've had a blast. Both on that ski (still have it) and my new RXT-X

Only had one bad day and that was when the wife's ski had a check engine light. Couldn't figure it out since I could not reference what the code was. When I got home, it was related to cylinder 1. Dumbass who changed the plugs did not put all 3 of them in right. He should have been fired or shot for that.

Unfortunately I was the one that worked on it.

Well I had a partial bad day once. See one time I ran out of gas as I was trailering my boat after a day on the river. Well I left the tank empty for two weeks filled up right before taking it out again and the boat wouldn't turn on. No fuel was going to engine. I spent a good 25 minutes trying to get of to turn on. I called the dealer to see if there was a manual choke on my speedster 150. They suggested that I broke my fuel pump and to tKs to them ASAP. At this point I was very upset because I was taking my sister and nephew out for the first time a knew they would be dissapointed and thinking more money. That's when it hit me to manually give it throttle at the same time my nephew push the start button. Worked like a charm and I had a great day. I'll never forget to leave the tank completely empty again.
