97 Speedster my battery is dead from sitting in the garage. Have "heard" or maybe read not to jump start the boat because of damage to electronics? What about putting a trickle charger on the battery? Should I disconnect the cables first. Battery is so far back and too the side seems like a major pain to take it out. Looks like a new battery po said he had just put it in. All help very much appreciated.

2.5 Amps and smaller and you will be fine. Many have hurt their MPEM by jumping the battery with boost boxes and battery chargers, others swear it does no harm. Not worth the risk. You can jump it from your car, just NOT have the engine running.

Wow thanks for the quick reply. What your saying makes good sense to me I appreciate your input.

If the battery is a PITA to get to, go to a local auto parts store and buy two longer cables (one red and one black). Connect one end to the battery and run the cables to a point where you can easily get to the other ends and mount them or tape them to a hose. This will allow you to get a jump and or charge the battery MUCH easier..

Or go to amazon and search for "E Support Car Battery Isolator" and a new cable from there or from the local parts store to go between the battery and the new disconnect. That way you can isolate your battery without affecting the MPEM.

Great idea. Want two batteries eventually anyway so i can put a dual switch in with an off position and isolate the battery now and put in the second one as time and funds permit.

Thanks

I'm planning on hardwiring an EC5 connector so I can easily jumpstart my Sea-Doo from a lithium jump pack from Juno Power so I don't need to use alligator clips when I'm on the water.
