I think i may have posted in the wrong forum. Anyway i need to know how to remove the jet pump from my 1995 GTX.

Thanks

should need two 10mm wrenches, a 13mm socket and a 17mm socket. first remove the bolts to the nozzle and reverse gate (10mm) then remove the four bolts holding the venturi from the pump (13mm) and then remove the four nuts holding the pump to the hull and then cut the two zip ties holding the bilge lines onto the inside of the pump, and then remove the water inlet line on the inside of the pump. the pump should then be able to be removed, may take some work if it has been siliconed to the hull or if the impeller shaft is a little rusty.

there are 2 big springs on the reverse gate. with it flipped up, the tension is almost all the way off them. they aren't fun. if it is stuck to hull after unbolting everything, get a 2 by four about 3 or 4 feet long. bolt a chain to 2 venturi screws, 1 high and 1 low. slip 2 by 4 thru loop in the chain. start bumping and pulling. it usually pops fairly easy.

Pump removed

I removed the pump, not a big deal just a little effort. Thanks for the idea of placing the chain on the studs,it work great. I can't seem to get te shaft off from the impeller. It needs to be replaced. The shop said it should just slide out. Any help would be great.

Thanks Tom

so the shaft came out with impeller and is stuck in? pop the rubber bushing-looking thing off the front of impeller. it will be difficult with shaft still there. you will probably kill the bushing, but it is 10 bucks at seadoo dealer. now spray PB Blaster down in the hole shaft is in. let it sit a couple of hours. bang the shaft side to side. should work it loose. now put a pair of vise grips on shaft on lip behind the fat spot where hull seal rides. tank a hammer and try to bang it out of pump. if it won't come out at all, you need a new shaft too. take it to somebody with torches. heat shaft to glowing about 3 to 4 inches in front of pump and bend shaft 90 degrees. now you have a wrench to unbolt impeller.
