Reinstalling my jet pump on my 1996 Challenger and had been waiting for a ring which the dealer stated was on back order but now says it has been discontinued with no further information. This ring is shown on the parts diagram going between the neoprene (foam) seal and the ride plate. Does anyone know if this ring is needed or is just the foam seal okay? The boat had bad cavitation before and I don't want this to happen again. Any help is appreciated Thanks.

You need the seal to keep if from cavitating. Try out "parts" link at the top of the page.

I thought I purchased one (anneau ring) but was later told they were out of stock. I've been told these are not manufactured any longer but cannot seem to find out if there is another replacement or if it is just not needed. I'm losing my patience and summer and think I will put pump on without it. Unless someone knows where I can find one.

Seal..........!!!!!!!

Are we just talking about that black seal ring between the ride plate and the pump housing?.........man, ............if this was keeping me from riding, you can bet I'd have already had my chaulking gun out with a tube of 100% silicone (the expensive kind), and put one hell of a bead around that puppy, waited 5 minutes or so, then slapped that baby together...........

SILICONE IT!.................what have you got to loose!

Dcourt was looking for a metal ring that goes between the neoprene seal and the ride shoe. It is no longer available. I thought someone on ebay had some old unused stock. but it apaered that they were eather out or could not find where they put them.

Oh..........

Oh.............I see. I didn't know that one was even removable. I thought it was an integral piece of the foundation of the plate........

Let me see if I can pull up a part number for him. If I can't find one, there ain't one to be found.....

Junkyards.........

I know, here, in Mobile, we have a boat junkyard. That may be your best idea. To find an old junkyard for boats.

I too have exhausted my research on it and can't even find the part number. Before I let to much time go by, I'd try to "McGyver" something to fit. Maybe, get some type of thick gasket material from a parts house, the thickness of the metal ring, and manafacturer your own ring from gasket material, or like I said in the above post, put a big, giant bead of silicone on it, let it dry real well, then put it together...........whatcha got to loose?

I am dealing with the same problem but I do have the spacer.

Here is a photo of what we are talking about.

Pump shoe

Aluminum spacer

foam ring with double sided tape (I think this was not originally on a 96)

So the question is? Should we silicone the aluminum spacer and then apply the foam seal with double sided tape or do we just forget the aluminum spacer completely?

I am guessing we still use the aluminum spacer.

I would think just as you described. Silicone spacer and ride shoe useing the right stuff [ right stuff is the brand name and I found it at advanced auto parts that is what seadoo use's] and then install the neoprene seal to the spacer.
