Someone mentioned to me in a post, that my speedometer could be off, well it's true, went to Lake Elsinore today, and noticed that my speedometer gave me 23mphwhen my GPS said 30, also, when it said 18 my GPS was stating 24.

I couldn't confirm more of it cuz my battery died, but before it died I was going at a constant speed of 30 on my GPS and my speedometer was a 23 or 24, but ll give a perfect accurate read next time I take it out..

It's the nature of a boat speedo. if the little paddle wheel gets some junk in it... it will read slow. Also... even though, you were on a Lake... the speedo reads water speed. So... if there was a current of any kind... that can make your true speed higher, or lower.

Thanks Doc!

Also I couldnt get my boat any higher than 6950 rpm.. wonder why that is? in the manual it states I should be able to reach 7400 rpm, I used shell 91, and the water wasnt that rough.

Could be mechanical, but more likely atmospheric conditions, elevation, and/or amount of people in the boat causing the lack of rpms. Seen all these drop mine up to 500rpms from where they should be.
