Issues with 2008 Seadoo gti 130 se

Hey y’all! I’m new here.
Just came to see if I could pick y’all’s brains on some minor(ish) issues i’m having with my 2008 GTI 130 SE.

The first and probably biggest issue is, when pressing the start button, sometimes it “clicks” once and then seems to give up, other times it “clicks” and then tries to turn over very slowly, and other times she’ll start right up.
At first i thought it was the battery but it’s brand new and has been on a trickle charger for a bit and has the same issue. I’m wondering now if it’s the actual start button itself, the solenoid, the starter itself, or possibly even the connection from the key.

The second one I didn’t directly feel but my dad felt. While riding he said it felt like it had a transmission “slip” (obviously it doesn’t have a transmission, but that was his best description on what it felt like). He’s not super experienced with jet-skis and neither am I, but I sounds like to me the impeller just got starved of water for a second and lost power. If anyone has any idea of what exactly it could have been please let me know!

1. change your solenoid, common failure and will eventually not start at all and just click, the $12 ones on ebay work well
2. something was stuck in your pump like a stick or seaweed, probably fell out or got spit out

If the inexpensive solenoid doesn’t work, make sure all your cables are tight. See if you see any corrosion inside the casing of the negative cable at the connection points. If that all seems good, then i think you likely have a bad starter that is drawing more amps than it should and has to be replaced. Happened to me once on my 2007 GTI. Sometimes was worse, slower crank when hot and better when cold. Starter replacement solved the issue. Hopefully that is helpful if you get to that point.
