Took the 'new' Islandia out this weekend and everyone loves it. Quite impressed with the smooth ride and power.

I do have a question/need advice and I turn to you, the experts. I bought a 60' tow line for tubing (longest I could find). The boat performs well under load, but the jet thrust coming out of the nozzle is quite long, throwing water into the face of the tuber/tubers. It almost seems as if I need a longer tow line (70-75 ft) to avoid this but I can't find any lines longer than 60'. I don't think this will be a problem for skiing/wakeboarding b/c you are out of the water Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how have you circumvented it?

Mercury....

You know, it gets me that some of the boats have the VTS and some don't. My 1997 has the VTS and as I'm pulling my tuber, I can adjust the direction of the nozzle to keep the spray from their face. But, mine are 6 and 7, so slowing the boats speed stops most of it.

Yeah, I know exactly what your talking about.

I got an idea, give it a try. It may not work. When you get your tube planned out, and your going to full throttle, grab your forward handle on the bucket and pull it back however slightly. It may allow a portion of the bucket to catch the top end of your nozzles thrust and diffuse it.

Hey, I know it's a hairbrain idea, but you never know. It may work.

Boats without manual VTS, ........I'll remember the next one I get, to make sure I still have that option!..........
