Hi, hooked up the battery in my New To Me 04 Islandia to test the lights and stereo. Turned the key and fuel gauge went up so I assumed I was good to go. Turned on various lights for about 5-10 minutes. All of a sudden I hear a long loud beep and the low battery warning system switch is lit up? I pushed the button and the beep stopped but the light stayed lit. I removed the battery and took it to an auto place and it tested fine. Any ideas what the problem is?

Yep... what he said.

It's very normal for low battery system to start beeping if you have a bunch of stuff on. Especially the front lights, or the bilge fan. Charge the battery, or get the boat on the water, and go for a ride.

FYI... although this question doesn't matter... your boat is powered with a Mercury engine, so questions should be put in that section.

So just curious if I'm out on the water without the engine running with the radio on will this warning go off?

At idle... you don't make enough power to really charge the battery. AND... it's not good to rev it up without a load.

Since you own a boat... you need a charger.

This a very good reason to install a second battery. Use it to run the radio and your boat battery won't run down.
They make special switches for this install. Battery 1 or battery 2 or I think maybe both at same time (is that correct????)
