Islandia Bimini Support Brackets

I saw a recent thread with someone posted the bimini support pieces and it struck me that I never knew what that piece I had was for - now I do! However, I only have 1 support, and I am pretty sure it is meant to have it on both sides when the bimini is down.

Couple of questions: For my 2001, this piece is discontinued so I can't find a new one, however it looks like they are available still for 2005+ Islandias (at a steep price). Does anyone have a 2005+ model and still have the support pieces that they wouldn't mind measuring? The one I have is 5-1/8" from center to center of the holes.

If someone can get me an answer to that - the second question: does anyone have extra of these and want to part with one? Thanks!

Would you mind measuring the distance from centers of hole to hole when you get a chance?

edit: well it looks like 2005, despite having a different part number, is also discontinued. Im still interested in the size, I am thinking maybe they are all the same across every year. 2006+ anyone?

2007 seadoo islandia (part # changes in 2006/2007 but show as being available in the part books online) - Think it was 2 for 117 dollars if I recall right.

5 13/16" end to end
5 1/4" on center (holes - i may be slightly off?)
1/4" diameter pin/hole
1/4" width where the support bracket hole is.

Awesome thanks for the thorough check - it looks like even these newer ones would work for my boat - they are the same size.

Now the hunt for a support for less than $120 new, or a used one somewhere! haha

Thanks again!

In reality I only use the small support for storage. It's in that position when in my driveway, parked and covered or trailering with cover on. I never use the boat with that in that position since it makes it hard to get to the swim platform/stern of the boat. Based on this if you only need it for storage and or trailering vs actual boating I don't think it needs to be extremely strong. So you could just get some heavy duty stainless steel bars that are flat (1/4 inch thick or less), cut to size and drill 1/4 inch holes.

Think they are rounded for extra support and strength like the normal raised position support posts but really don't think that's needed for what it's intended for.

Agreed I don't use them when operating the boat, but my garage door is low enough that i have to drop the top when i pull her in during the week or whenever, plus in winter. I had been using cut up pool noodles to wrap the bimini bars and let them sit on the boat itself previously haha. I may continue to do that just for short term storage in the warm months, but I am looking for these for the winter storage.

Thanks to all - I ended up buying something similar to the fleabay link above. It was longer by a good bit so it wouldn't work with the existing one I still had, so I got the dremel and drill out and just cut it to size (it was a telescoping style with a spring button lock). Max I could cut it down with the button lock to work was about 6" hole to hole, so they don't match dead on, but that little bit didn't have an effect on how the bimini stows.

Thanks again! Hopefully these don't get lost again!

Pics as requested. The one is about 1.5" longer than the other - maybe its my old warped bimini poles, but it stows just fine with these mismatched poles.

edit: attached original pic of the one i bought.

Nice. Although you could probably cut the longer piece (that has the hole in it) shorter and drill and new hole for the button spring.

Yea i thought of that afterwards too - but after the cut on the smaller piece took almost an entire cutoff wheel, I had had enough! Maybe another time
