Sorry for the quality it came from my iphone. Anywas this is my 2002 gtx 4tec. I replaced the wear ring, impeller didnt look bad so kept that. Anyways was going to order a new impeller but some people including Dr. Honda suggest it might be my carbon ring. anyways this is what it does. clamps are tight as can be. Is this movement normal. I wouldnt say its completely loose or really easy to move but with a little force it does. Also is it a hard fix to change it out. Take pump out, drive shaft then insert new carbon ring?? And what all items do I need to purchase if I go this route. Thanks. here is the video. It wouldnt upload here so had to do it on youtube.

the side to side movement is normal. the ID of the Carbon ring is larger than the OD of the driveshaft.

if you change it, you have to pull back on the carbon ring and remove the c-clip under the stainless steel ring before removing the pump. you will also want to replace the 2 o-rings inside the SS ring and a new c-clip. some replace the bellows too

when you mention pulling back on the carbon ring is that moving it toward the back of the ski or towards the engine??

pull the carbon ring and SS ring toward the back of teh ski to expose the C-clip under the SS ring.

when you pull the driveshaft out be sure you don't lose the rubber bumpers off the ends.
