I own two 2006 Sea-Doo RXP's that I purchased new in Feb, 2007. I have a three year warranty with Sea-Doo. However, This past summer the two machines developed fiberglass stress fractures on the right rear panel. Both machines have EXACTLY the same problem in the EXACT same spot. However, SeaDoo is claiming that some how the stress fractures were caused by operator error and therefore they are not going to fix the defect. To make matters worse SeaDoo has not even sent a representative out to look at my two machines in person! Has anyone experienced this kind of terrible customer service from SeaDoo?

It is possible that the stress fractures are from your style of riding. When I was racing Kawasaki stand ups in the Pro Mod class, I use to always snap the handle bar pole clean off unless I added support on the pole. I used to keep 2 spears on hand just to make a weekend of practice and races...just in case. I never knew anyone that did that to the handle bar poles but me...My friends hated to hear me ask to jam their jet ski's on practice days...they never had their poles supported like mine. ..of coarse I was always faster and more aggressive then they were.
Push harder at seadoo for results... the squeaky wheel gets the grease so to speak.

Good Info

kustomkarl, Thanks for the advice I am not really a racer. I mean I like to go fast but that's why I bought the RXP model. I apologize for posting in the wrong forum. New to the site.

If I may add...

Kustomkarl knows more about hull integrity than me, that I'm certain. When you race these things, you put them through all kinds of stress, so I'm sure he's seen his share.

What I'd like to add to is warranty. Warranty is mostly limited. Under most circumstances, warranty does not cover things like fiberglass cracks, unless it's found to be defective. It is normal to see fiberglass have some type of spider cracks over a period of time.

What I'd suggest is that you go over your warranty really well. Looking for any signs that they will cover the damage to the hull from the stress of riding. Most warranties cover the engine and pump along with electrical problems. If you find it does cover the hull for stress cracks, then like popasodatastie said, stay on them..........they will eventually respond.

stress cracks

I have an 08 challenger 180 that I only put 5 hours on last summer. When i took it for winterization the tech noticed the tress cracks all over the back deck. They were all ove rit not just in one area. you can see the board supports and how the cracks were all around them like an outline. Anyway, I took it to the dealer and rigth away they contacted BRP and they said they dont cover stress fractures and thats clear in the warranty information. Well, I knew it was a defect and mentioned I would be getting a lawyer invoved. They changed thier mind and offered to get an estimate and based on that estimate they approved it to be fixed. The story goes on and on of how my dealer closed down and the warranty check got lost but I now have my boat back. The company who did the body work said it was real bad from the factory. Hardly any gelcoat on that back deck. Its solid now. I wonder how many otehr models had simular issues.
