I've been working on this 98 speedster for weeks now. The previous owner installed new engines but it's obvious he was just putting the boat back together to sell it.

I've rebuilt all 4 carbs, pulled both engines back out, replaced missing bolts mounting the exhaust, set carbs back to factory settings, reset the oil pumps back to factory. I reinstalled the engines and aligned them (they were way outing alignment). I also rebuilt both jet pumps.

This weekend I'm taking it out for a test drive.

It's been a long battle and it seems everytime I fix something I find something else wrong. I hope this story ends with a happy boat owner.

Can someone share a similar story with a happy ending to cheer me up?

I bought my dirt bike and it had a guys name on the number plate, so i google image the name and find a foto of my bike 20ft in the air getting whipped. So I bought this guys ex-race bike from a different redneck that had no idea what he was doing. So when it came time for a new bottom end and I started pulling the motor everything I took off to get the motor out was FRIED. A few thousand dollars later and lots of work and :banghead: ing I had this

And eventhough this is green on green crime I spanked a $9,000 4 stroke with a 10 year old antiquated 2 stroke

So yeah thats not a boat but if it has tits, tires, or floats it will cause you problems and cost you money :willy_nilly:
