So here is the thread where I have been working. http://www.seadooforum.com/showthre...click-when-trying-to-start-stator-or-solenoid. Low down isat the lake for awhile and then the engine cut off. Tried to restart and it would turn over but completely, then it just went clunk. Get it home and the same sound, sounds like coming from the Pto/drive shaft when you hit start. Thanks to som help I got the jet pump off and it turns freely. I still couldn't turn the Pto by hand though? There was a round plastic piece hanging on the drive shaft that came from somewhere.???? My question is could something with the driveshaft be causing me not to turn the Pto? Could this be an issue with the starter staying engaged? I tried getting the starter off but could get the positive wire off. Please help for I'm treading water here trying to figure this out. If it is seized then he baby is ugly but rather try everything first to diagnose. Thanks!

Take the spark plugs out and see if you can turn the pto then. It is difficult to turn with the plugs in, you are fighting the engine compression.

a picture of the plastic piece would help. is it just the pto cover?

go check your other thread.

Also, if the pump is out... then no, there is nothing that could be holding the drivshaft.

Also, I'm going to lock this thread. It makes it hard to answer questions, if there are 2 threads with the same issues.
