I have been working on my two ski's the past weekend and finally got both ski's carbs off and ready to be rebuilt. I was wondering if a rebuild kit for these are necessary. I have rebuilt other carbs for 4 wheelers, cars, trucks and sometimes the gaskets are all rubber and in good condition. I usually then reuse those gaskets and save time/money.
Are there any gaskets that have to be replaced or will defiantly need replaced?
Thanks for the help!
Both ski’s are 98’s
XP limited and GTX limited

Truth be told, it varies. I got mine apart, and cleaned up, and re-assembled without any kit.

If you have a 2 carb one, you might get one kit, just in case.

Well I took one set apart. Everything was decent. The filters were plugged pretty well. After cleaning them with a stiff bristle brush I noticed that there was still some discolored parts on the mesh. I think I’m going to just buy set of rebuild kits so I can do it right instead of having something go wrong down the road. Also the rubber o-ring that goes around the seat to seal it in the carb had a tiny chunk out of it. I know from previous rebuilds with other carbs usually this will allow gas to seep around and mess with the amount of fuel the engine gets.

Anyone know where I can get some good inexpensive rebuild kits?
Thanks!

Well I started looking into just buying the small filters and o-rings for the seats in the carbs. I looked at the diaphragms as well; I noticed that they have a suction look to them. They are not flat across like new ones. Is this going to be a problem for me? Should I buy new diaphragms as well or that ok that they are formed around the rubber gaskets?
Thanks!
