Probably 40 small lizards, which is normal. Three coconuts washed up onto my back yard, a Toad that was 7 inches in diameter, and a Lizard that was 3.5 to 4 ft long. Needless to say, we scarred the living crap out of each other....

I'm glad I didn't hurt or kill the large lizard. I would have felt bad. He was hiding under the grass that was over grown and hanging over the lip of the lake behind my house. I'll not cut that part anymore, I'm good with him living here.

I love lizards and toads around my home. They eat all the little bugs that you don't want in the home,,,

CAM00406.jpgYa, I agree ... love them lizards for eating bugs. Drives me crazy that my boy kid will spend a lot of time tearing apart the wood pile to get them, but that is the nature of the hunting dog.

You must remember to never, never spoil your hunting dogs.

Hey Rod, are you sure that's your dog, he looks just like you, could be your son.

BTW, we just got back from AK, we had a great time.

Spim, you better not let your wife see this. You're supposed to say "the best day of my life is the day I got married". I'm not saying it's true, just saying............

best day of my life was 5 years ago when I hired a lawn service, its WONDERFUL !!!

For me... mowing and basic yard maintenance is part of my mental down-time. I DO NOT try to keep a garden... and I HATE trimming the hedges. But mowing, is nice. I even take care of a green space that was totally overgrown when I moved into my house... and now all the neighborhood kids play back there. Besides... it's just an excuse to ride on one of my other toys. (LOL)

lol, even my wife know's how much I love having a lawn service,
sux in Florida, year round mowing, and the worst months (heavy growth) are summers when the grass was always soaked or it was raining, then it got ugly if you missed a cut. screw that !!!

I still enjoy tinkering, trimming bushes/palms, and its impossible to avoid regular sprinkler maintenance, since my lawn guys seem to take pleasure in squishing my sprinkler heads.

I'm actually getting ready (as of 5/1) to fire my current service since no matter how many times I ask, I can't get them to raise the blades high enough to satisfy me, so i'm switching to my neighbor's service, it took him a year but he finally got them to cut the grass high in the winter, so i'm changing over.

Lou, you say the nicest things ... best for this week so far ... but
Simon's feelings are hurt, he has been pouting all day
We decided that you should send us a bottle of George Dickel 12 year old 90 proof and we will sit on the south porch in the 70 degree golden sunset watching the hot-air balloons float up from Del Mar and sipping and recovering.
Joe, sorry for Lou hijacking your thread
Lou, if you stopped in Ketchikan and did not stay at the Black Bear in you really missed out ... have we hijacked Joe's thread sufficiently?

Tell Simon I sincerely apologize for calling him your son, I must have been confused by the matching white beards. Sorry I can't send George Dickel, it's Tennessee whiskey. How about a bottle of Woodford Reserve?

We didn't get to Ketchikan this year. We went to Anchorage, our son and his family live there. And we went to Seward, on the Kenai Peninsula, for a couple of days, it's a must see in AK. We stayed at the Harbor 360 Hotel, best view in Seward.

Good grief ... I made a mistake in reaching into the cabinet and grabbing the George Dickel ... knew I should have grabbed the Makers Mark. Have not tried Woodford Reserve, need to check it out.

I have a nephew that has lived in Anchorage most of his life; is probably getting close to retiring from Anchorage Police Dept.

If you plan a trip back that includes Ketchikan, search web for blackbear inn Ketchikan. One of my best friends that I grew up with in Ketchikan and his wife own the place. Classy place at the edge of a cliff overlooking the northern entrance of Tongass narrows into Ketchikan. No, I am not getting advertising kickbacks.
