Hey guys, after a long fun weekend of riding I noticed my stock intake grate was broken, so I ordered a new one and went to replace it today. I got 3 out of the 4 bolts out and snapped the head on the front left bolt.
What is the best way of getting this out and replacing? What is behind that bolt? (Fibreglass, metal jacket etc.
I am running a 1999 gsx limited.
ANY help is appreciated!!! Thank you

those front bolts screw into sleeve inserts, that are held in place by the fibre glass of the hull. It will be hard to work on it from below, you can lay it on the ground (foam or blankets) and turn it on its side (gas cap side up), and remove the battery so it doesn't fall out of its holder. Perhaps you can use a smaller drill bit and drill into the broken bolt, and try using an easy out. I'm sure there will be more ideas coming, so wait for some more replies with different approaches.

Thank you for the reply!!
Is it a insert or a plate? I had read that they had plates but I am not sure. I am just praying don’t have to re tap the hole. Would a heli coil kit or whatever they’re called work for this? Thank you

Pretty sure it's and aluminum plate fiberglassed into the hull.
Yes, you could use helicoils if you need to but make sure it's still sealed inside the hull so you don't get water leaks.

I apologize, I forgot another possible move, if inside the hull, below the drive shaft there are 2 10 mm nylock nuts, (covered in silicone), I have taken
2 flat 10 mm nuts, thread them on the exposed thread, and 2 slim short 10 mm wrenches and lock them against each, and remove the broken stud from the top.
