Hey guys, I have a question regarding insurance. I have a 99 gtx limited, i keep it on a lift beside a dock at my parents house, as they are on the water.

We had a brutal windstorm last night only to find this morning that the machine was mangled up against the rocks. They were able to get the machine back on the lift, but the underneath is just destroyed. Before i attempt to notify my insurance, what will they cover? and what wont they cover? Just want to know if anyone has had a similar situation like this, and what to claim before i call. If i have to change the story i will.

Any ideas would be great!

It depends on what you have for coverage. How high is your deductible? If it's $1000.00 then it will be out of your pocket. Insurance is for major expense that is too high for you to handle like someone getting killed or injured by your seadoo. Remember if you nickle and dime the insurance company, they might cancel you or raise your premiums. The best defense to keep premiums down is awareness of weather, and only use the insurance it for the unavoidable, like an accident. I have My "2008" 200speedster on my lift too...I check the weather report daily and pull it if it looks like it's gonna be a threat to it's safety. It takes me about 30 minutes to load my speedster on the trailer and in the garage, for safe keeping...it could take months to get it repaired and paid for. Than more money to pay higher premiums. I live in Florida in Hurricane country.

florida insurance also asks when you purchase the policy will it be kept indoors(ie:garage) or outside when not in use....if they/you selected indoor when not in use but it was outside not inuse when damaged that could be a problem, I pay $28 a month for insurance on my ski, with a $500 deduct. worth it? My ski's value is only around $3500 or so in stock form....maybe worth it maybe not.
