bought this boat week ago and its my first boat and ended up pulling the seats too give whole thing a through cleaning and previous owner had redone seats couple yesrs ago and used velcro too install them back in place . So when i pulled the seats i noticed the velcro was rough shspe all dried and falling apart so i bought new outdoor industrial velcro and been searching online and still cant get solid answer . But how do i get the velcro pads too attach too the foam part of seats so they dont fall off ? Any ideas anyone ? A glue , or anything

Well, the velcro is from the factory, that is how my 99 Speedster seats are and I bought the boat brand new in 99. It was originally glued on, so I would stop by an upholstery shop and see what they have to offer. I have a piece that is loose but never investigated in a repair. There also should be snaps and aluminum bars that hold them in on the long flaps

Ok so must be factory i didnt realize but yes every bottom part of all 5 seats wont stick . All the back do just fine and holding perfect .

Well i tried veriety of different glues overnight too bomd velcro too actual foam

Abs cement ( yellow glue )

Plastic cement ( model glue )

Pl premium ( contruction adhessive )

So far the ABS compound seems too realky bite and out of all three ABS cement worked the best . And i pulled all three samples off and the Abs cement took the foam with it so that is the choice for me so i will update over time in case others have issues with the velcro

I am interested in your solution to this. Mine had been repaired when I bought it. They had just put a new cover over the old one and used some sort of guck to adhere it. It is not actually cured and is a sticky mess. I want to fix them as it looks terrible but am afraid to see what I find underneath.

Lol take look at my seats sbove in pics lol that was last job prev owner had done couoke years ago and the actual seats look gross all black and stuff but i used the basic ABS pipe cement and coated the back of velcro and stuck it on and kinda put a line right around the whole velcro strip and i put seats in and seem pretty sturdy cause i dont got the snap buttons on seats as the prev owner didnt use them so so far i liked the abs and see how long lasts
