Inaccurate Fuel Gauge

The fuel gauge on my 2003 Sportster is not reading correctly. When tank is 100% full, the gauge only reads 3/4. Not a huge issue, but I would be interested in fixing the issue if anyone knows what the potential issue may be.

Seadoo's went through a series of bad fuel floats. AS it starts to go bad, it absorbs full and reads less and less as time goes on. Eventually you will get a low light and it will go into limp mode if you ski/boat has that option.

I am not sure the years the floats were like this, so let someone that has specific knowledge jump in..

Polaris had the same issues, had to replace both of my Polaris and the were only one year old when I bought them...
