HOW HARD IS IT TO CHANGE MY Impeller AND SHOULD I ? DO I NEED TO CHANGE PITCH AND WOULD IT MAKE THAT MUCH DIFF. WHAT KIND OF JOB TIME? IS THE WAER RING HARD TO PUT IN I DONT KNOW IF ITS EVER BEEN CHANGED. ANY SPECIAL TOOLS THAT I NEED WOULD A TED NUGENT CD HELP OR ROMONES:bigear:

Changing the impeller and wear ring isn't terribly difficult. I highly recommend getting your hands on a shop manual to guide you through the process. The job could be done in a couple of hours.

The only special tool you need is an impeller removal tool.

To make installing the wear ring easier, I stuck mine in a freezer before I installed it. That made it much easier. :)

Change Pitch? You'd have to have a reason to change. Like if you are a really heavy or massive dude, you might want a smaller bite from the prop. This would in effect give you a slower top end, and would make it act like it was in a lower gear. Or if you are into towing other boats or something!

If you were racing, and were a really light person, maybe a little bigger bite, so you could go faster.

So, what reason would you want to change, and what direction would you want to go?

if it ain't broke, don't break it. if you listen to ted nugent while working on stuff...you're probly gonna break it.

I keep Ted in my fav list all the time...keep the stock impeller size and move on. I would get the old one reconditioned for cheap.
