Impeller Tools: SOLAS WR011 vs. WR001

Not sure how it happened but I apparently ordered the wrong impeller removal tool, and I think the reason why is because during my research and cross-referencing from SeaDoo part number to aftermarket part number I dyslexified WR001 into WR011. I received the WR011 (incorrect part#) instead of the WR001 (correct part#?) for both the 1997 SX and 1996 GSX SeaDoo's that I am working on.

But now I want to consult with someone who actually knows this before spending money again on another impeller removal tool. FYI the WR011 is HUGE compared to the spline-hole on the pump. I can't see a difference in the photos on eBay between the two, and I can't find any kind of specification that shows how they are different (such as diameter, or number of splines).

Can someone tell me that the WR001 is the correct part number for the impeller removal tool for a 1997 SX and/or a 1996 GSX SeaDoo, or not? Thanks in advance.

I’m not sure what the SX is? Are you talking about a GS from Sea Doo, or an SPX? Or is it a Kawasaki stand up?

I guess either way, the WR011 is for the newer 4-tec machines and the WR001 is for the correct one for the older two stroke machines. It also works for the Kawi if that’s what you meant by SX...

Thanks, you've answered my question. When I first took an interest in repairing my two SeaDoos, which were given to me on a trailer in lieu of $1,000 that a customer owed me, I knew literally nothing. I've ridden a SeaDoo exactly once in my life. Everything I think I know about them, I've learned here. So when I set up the account, I somehow decided that I had a GSX and an "SX", and so now that I'm messing with the pumps (3 years later), I just pulled the letters "SX" off my profile. One is red, the other is yellow, and the red one has a bigger engine than the yellow one. That's what I know, lol... I mean sure I can get the information off the tag on the back, but I do lots & lots of stuff and so have the habit of only retaining technical data for a short time, especially if I can look it up later if necessary. So, Your Honor, that's my excuse. I'd like to ask for leniency from the court during sentencing.

No worries at all! I was just a little confused about which ski we were talking about! Kawasaki actually did make an SX model, so I figured you might have had one of those... I’m not real sure what ski the 97 could be if it’s yellow with a smaller engine than the gsx. Maybe a GTI with the 720... Either way, that other tool should be what you need! Good luck!
