Impeller Shaft Seal application change

I have owned several Seadoos; currently rebuilding the pumps on my 2016 and 2017 GTX's. The larger VERY important impeller shaft seal; PN 271002 071 is on all the shafts (same for 2015 to 2020) in the same housing, same angled bearing PN 267000900. However, BRP is using a newer (slightly thinner) seal PN 27100-2071 in PAIRS now and deleted the plastic "do nothing" spacer PN 271-001-393. Still using the thin outer seal PN 293200 089 on ALL years 2015 to 2020. So, my point BRP provided the schematic diagrams on micro-fiche for the PWC parts sites and the parts numbers for propulsion systems are the same for this group of models (2015 to 2020 in the 130-155-170 GTI/GTX lines); but is WRONG for the 2018 GTX 155 Propulsion diagram because it does NOT show the VERY important larger (hence thicker) seal PN 271-002-071 that is on ALL shafts (now doubled since 2020, 21 etc). Customers ordering from the picture will not know to buy the Larger seal. The 2018 GTI diagram is correct; but the GTX diagram is deficient. The thin seal will not keep water out of the Angled bearing alone. You can research to confirm; but I have spent the past two hours studying the diagrams from 2015 to 2020 and made a chart with PN's to be sure the housing unit , shaft, seals, o-rings, etc... are the same across the years for the GTX and GTI (same propulsion system; different hull design and decals only difference with minor features cruise, etc...) Otherwise the engine/propulsion is identical for manufacturing assembly line efficiency. Therefore, the Seal PN 271002-071 is in high demand because we should be using TWO of them (Delete the Plastic Spacer) AND the thinner outer most seal PN 2932-000-89. Whew! Most dealers and many parts suppliers in Florida and Virginia, etc... are Back Ordered for the Seal. Somebody at BRP screwed up in formatting the 2018 GTX diagram picture. Part is listed; but not shown. Bottom Line; Order TWO seals And the thin outside seal for every shaft rebuild. World Power Sports BRP OEM parts supplier in Decatur IL have dozens on hand. Sincerely, Scott K; Shade Tree Seadoo Repairs, Williamsburg, VA.
