Impeller interchangeability?

Hi All

I have a question regarding the interchangeability of impellers.

I recently acquired a 94 SPX that came with no jet pump. I picked up a complete used jet pump from a jet ski wrecker. I'm not sure what model it was from but the part no. on the impeller is 271000660 which I have found on Seadoo source came out on some later 787 models. Also from Seadoo source I notice that the pitch is different between the impeller I have and the one listed for the 94 SPX.

Will this impeller work on my ski or should I find the correct one for my model or another 657 model?

Any help will be much appreciated as I'm new to all this and it already looks like I'm going over budget on this ski :D

Thanks
Ryan

I have a stock 93xp impeller that was in an aluminum pump w bronze vanes, the impeller looks good, and the pump housing is now my alignment tool, if you want it, let me know. I think the last 3 #s were 454
But I'll have to check....it looked different than all my others, had a fatter center, less blade area, maybe
Someone knows why? I'm using a plastic/bronze pump now with a solas prop....

Yes you must have a properly pitched impeller. That 660 prop is for a boat with 50 more horse power as you have correctly researched. It'd be like going up hill in a four cylinder car stuck in 7th gear if it were a five speed.

Luckily that is not a rare or expensive part. Blowncat's 454 would work fine.

Thanks for your input guys. I believe the 93XP is much the same ski as the 94SPX so it should work.

Thanks Blowncat for your offer. PM sent.

Hi Guys.

I have found a used Solas with a 14/19 pitch for a good price. How different would this be from the stock impeller? eg. better holeshot or more top end?
