I don't suppose anyone can really answer this question without running my waverunner(gtx 2004 supercharged limited rotax 4-tec) I let someone ride my new purchase and they forgot to pull up the rope ...so yes it got sucked in and it didn't want to start or run. However, he advised me that it was bogging down before the rope was sucked in. I was able to stick my petite little hands up the intake valve(yes Im female) and eventually free the rope holding my breath for minutes at a time. It did start and to make a long story short didn't want to go anywhere (engine reves up ,idle goes high) other than idle (forward) which still moved the boat back to shore. Later that day after inspection it was clear to me that the shaft was turning, but the impellar wasn't. There was a 1 cm piece of bark stuck in the blade and wedged up against the housing. Once I freed it the impellar started turning again and I used it today. On 2 different occassions it started doing the same thing High rpms but no forward motion. It came out of it both times.....do i have a bad impellar or are the bearings ?? shot ...any ideas....help I am a veterinarian and a do it yourself kinda person. Can I fix this myself...fairly mechanically inclined. ??
