There is normally a ohm test from post to post, and another from end of wire to end of wire. The best way is to get a tool that can measure the voltage on discharge at the end of the wires.
You need to add you seadoo model and year to your avatar. Typically if you have a spark problem, remove the spark plug cap and cut off 1/4" and reinstall the cap again. Check the spark. Are you getting 2 beeps if it has a dess?
With an ohm meter.
You should get about 15,000 ohms between the secondary leads with the plug caps on and about 5,000 ohms with the plug caps off. The primary circuit should read 0.33 - 0.62 ohms.
Thanks for the replies, the coil is shot I can't get a reading plug cap to plug cap. Anyone have a 278000202 ignition coil. There are a couple of coils that look the same but have slightly different numbers will they work?
