Hey guys,
I have my 2005 Challenger 180 here with it on the trailer. I have yet to put it in the water, but hope to get it in the lake tonight. I do not have an owners manual yet, and i did a search of the ICS and found no previous threads. I went under the boat and saw the grates are down (not flush with the body). So I figured I would turn on the battery and hit the ICS button which i assume lowers and raises the grate? So should it be down? Or once it is running does it go up? I would appreciate any help. Thanks. Rick

I think I found my answer in the manual.....

Well,
Looking at the manual, it looks like you put it in drive after 10 seconds of hitting the switch, and that must be what causes it to retract and close. I guess on the trailer, i was of course not putting it in forward, and so it was not fully closing. Rick

Ics

i have an 06, and the way mine works is when i have the boat only in "N" and under 5mph on the speed-o the grate comes down for about 10sec and then go's right back up on its own. you can tell if it working when the light lights up on the ics switch. and when it gos out its back up in the ready position.

how far down are you talking? all the way down, or just an inch. if its all the way i would say your actuator is screwed up and i would try to rig it so it stays up and consider the ics as inoperable. its not a very reliable system to begin with and they deleted it after 06. if its just down about an inch, id say its normal.
