IBR erorr

Need_Not

New Member
hello I'm new to the forums and I was driving my spark and noticed the reverse works 50% of the time (the other 50% it beeps), the break didn't work and the IBR light was flashing.

I was wondering if its ok to still drive it today or if it can make it worse.
Even aside from that I'll obviously need to fix this but I don't know what the cause or solution would be.

Thanks!

It is ALWAYS BEST to "fix" a problem, rather than ignore it and keep riding the ski, as MORE damage could be inflicted to an already compromised system. If the iBR is flashing, then something is wrong. Personally, I would not keep riding the ski until I addressed the issue. A malfunctioning system could put YOU or Others in peril if a serious failure occurs - suddenly and usually at the most inopportune moment.

FWIW: I JUST posted an iBR dissertation yesterday...you might want to give that a read for some background info about HOW the iBR actually works mechanically. It is a relatively simple system but it takes a little doing to get into it and actually diagnose and fix it.....but it is do-able. HOWEVER......is the ski still under warranty? If so, get it back to the dealer and let them handle it....IMHO!

Check the reverse mechanism for any stones etc
I had a customer travel 190kms to bri gathering ski for me to fix and was a small stone stuck in the mechanism

I have concluded that the IBR scoop is stuck half forward and half reverse and i actually remember someone saying they felt drag on it. Ill try to free the scoop
