I am brand new to Seadooforum.com and would love some help from you all!

I am found a 2004 Sportster (4-tech 155 hp) that is for sale in my area that I went to look at and am very interested in purchasing the boat from the guy. According to the current owner of the boat, the DESS system was ripped out along with the stereo and a couple other "miscellaneous" parts. The guy says "Someone tried to steal it, but was unsuccessful" (I did the research with DMV and the boat has a clean title and was never reported stolen)

When I looked at the boat this is what I saw:

- Nothing on Right side of the steering wheel, No start button, Nothing in key hole (I think it is the DESS post from the research I have done)

- No switches on the left side of the steering wheel

These were the only 2 things that stuck out to me as problematic. I looked in the front storage unit (directly in front of steering wheel) unfortunately I cannot remember/do not know enough about the boat to know if there was more electric components missing.

I would truly appreciate some input and advice regarding this boat. The price on the boat is "a steal" (jokes on my first post haha) so if you could let me know how much you think it would cost to get the appropriate parts. Also, what other potential electric components am I going to need to be able to start and operate the boat?

Thanks for your help and let me know if you have any other questions and I will fill in any blanks where I can.

Oh yeah.....

:agree: with JPX.......this is someones nightmare right now. You need to leave it as their nightmare, not yours.

If you persist, do your homework.

I am looking at getting the boat for $2,000, the guy needs to make a house payment.

Even if I put another 2k-4k into the boat I still think it is worth it.
