I need an oil expert

I need someone who understands all the oil techno babble to tell me if the oil I am using is OK.

Seadoo maunal says:
"Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together." whatever that means :)

I have been using Amsoil HP Injector oil for the past year and just filled 2 skis with $60 worth, because that is what my marina sells. The HP Injector bottle says TC-W3 and API-TC.

I just discovered that my marina also sells Amsoil Interceptor oil which says "API TC, JASO FC".

This Amsoil Chart describes the different oils. http://www.amsoil.com/products/twocycle/2cycle_chart.gif

It appears that I would be better off using the Interceptor oil instead of the HP Injector oil. But is it OK to run the HP Injector oil that I just filled the skis with and switch when that runs out? And can I mix the 2 oils when I switch over?

I tried asking Amsoil Tech support this question, but they did not give me a straight answer. I also posted this question here last year and the only response I got was a link to the Amsoil chart which didn't answer my question, so hopefully someone who really knows can help me out. Thanks!

Oil?

The manual is pretty specific on the oil type and it appears you see that too. The designation of the AMSOIL oil, which by the way is one of the best oils you could purchase, is the interceptor oil

The TCW-3 oils are ashless oils. You must have a low ash oil for your motor. Whether it's the slide valves or the rotary chamber and slide, it needs to be non TCW oil.

I'm not sure if that confused him, but it did confuse me... TCW-3 is okay, but it's supposed to be non-TWC oil? I'm glad I saw this post because it was on my list of questions to ask... I have a bunch of 2-stroke outboard oil in the shed, which I thought about using, but decided against it. Looking over this post makes me wonder what I should buy though. I didn't realize there were so many options... Amsoil Interceptor oil is the best though? I don't really wanna skimp on oil, so if that's what works the best, that's what I wanna use...

still confused

I don't know what the API TC and TCW3 designations mean, but my confusion comes from the label on the Injector HP oil says "For TCW3 and API TC applications" which made me think that this wasn't a "TCW3" oil but could be used where one is called for? So that assumption was wrong?

I asked the same question to Amsoil last year and never got a clear answer. Eventhough many people use a variety of oils, I prefer to follow the specs which is either Seadoo XPS or Amsoil Interceptor, the later of which I have been using for several years now. I would not worry too much just refil with one of these two oils the next time it's low. Most all modern oils will mix without problems.

Not to confuse anyone, it's the ROTAX engines that call for the API-TC. The Mercury engine requires TC-W3 for which I use the Quick Silver brand since it's cheap and redily available.

dude,
After further investigation I found out that the HP Injector oil is Ashless and the Interceptor Oil is Low Ash. So Interceptor is defintely the way to go if using Amsoil in the Rotax
