I need a fuel baffle for a Challenger 1800

My fuel gauge was not working when I bought my 1999 Challenger 1800 . I took out the fuel baffle, installed a new float; still did not work.
Cut open the plastic and the circuit board was peeling up and had broken circuits. I made the repairs to the board. The repairs were initially working, but the gauge went to full (it had half a tank) and set off the low fuel alarm. I disconnected the gauge.

I am looking for a used baffle, but I have not been able to find one for a Challenger with three wires.
Does anyone have one for sale or know where I can get one?

Is there another option like using a fuel baffle off a newer/different boat?

Length might be a variable, I really wouldn't know the detail there but Minnetonka4me might know the answer. I didn't measure mine while it was out, didn't think about it probably b/c I was headed right back out onto the water. :)

The 1999 Challenger has the 2" extension on the bottom of the fuel baffle. It does not come with a fuel selector only a low fuel alarm. That is why it has three wires coming from the baffle one for the alarm. I have seen fuel baffles for jet skis with the 2" extension, but they are two wire and probably have a reserve inlet that is shorter. The Challenger 1800's fuel baffle has two equal length inlets one for each engine.

Yesterday was a beautiful day here in Southern California. I'm a little jealous that I was not able to be out on the water :drool5:. Parts are coming this week, hope to be able to join y'all on the water next week .

I'm 99% sure a jet ski one will work as long as it has 3 wires. Mine has one motor connected to on, one motor connected to res, the return lines are y-ed to return and the vent is teed in to the big vent for the tank. The pickups on the bottom are just lengths of hose with screened pickups that you could modify the length. The baffle is 4-6" from the bottom of the tank.

Josh,

That is a good point. Thinking about it, I might be able to use the bottom extension off my existing baffle. The other issue is if I find a used baffle for a Challenger there is no way of knowing the condition or how long it will last. My current thinking is to buy a two wire baffle with an extension on the bottom out of a newer jet ski. Hopefully, I could use the existing extension off my current baffle. The two wire would allow my gas gauge to work again, but I would not have the low fuel alarm. I could mount a two-gallon gas can somewhere in one of the compartments. That way if I were not paying attention and run out of gas, I would have a reserve to get back to the ramp.
