I cut too much off my Rave Valves?

I just replaced my pistons with .5mm over (787 engine).
I read I should shorten the Rave Valve by .5mm. I took a little more than .5 off the face.
Then I saw the video where the person wrapped the piston in sandpaper and sanded the Rave Valve at the same angle it fits in the jug.
Long story short I am now 1.0mm shorter. Will the extra distance of .5mm away from the piston matter?

think you will be fine as long as they don't leak should still work but just my opinion i would run them
