I recently purchased a 97 sea doo XP. My question is: Is there suppose to be a screw or bolt that is screwed into something under the jet ski. To me it looks like a threaded hole. the location is below the seat and right in the indented area where the water comes into the craft for propolision. Is this clear. I am very green and I need to know if I am missing something there. It also looks like it had some black sealant of something like that around it.

Can you show a photo of this location?

It might be a screw missing from the intake grate.

Drain plug?

It sounds like your describing the drain plug. It's a threaded hole about 3/4" in diameter..........

That should be the only hole in your hull, with exception to vent lines from the gas tank.

if its a drain plug, is it plastic or stainless steel or ? I also take it that the plug should be installed otherwise water will get into the machine. Is the plug attainable at the sea doo dealer or can I just pick something up at the hardware store?? Thanks for your help

Does it look anything like this? If so, it is an add on bilge pump outlet.

no. it is not that. It is located on the underside of the boat probally 9 inches (going toward the front of the craft) or less from the propulsion indentation where water flows to jet. There is a square area which is also indentied on the hull which is where this threaded something is. I think it is intended to be there but I am not sure if it secures something or its just a plug.
Thanks again. I can't take a picture of it because the jet ski is on the trailer and I can't get a good picture of the bottom of the jet ski.
