Mine was overall pretty good. No major issues for 1st time out. Had to pull X20 back in to get a stick out from under boat where it sucked it up and had wrapped itself around which I assume is pretty common in the river when we have had so much rain.

Any crazy stories good or bad?

Had a good weekend as well. Not out on the water very much. Took my two sisters and one of their husbands for a fairly short ride on the Myakka River. Yesterday we just hung with the family by the pool and cooked out.

Overall, mine was pretty damn good, though there were some regrettable events...

The Bad: My EGT sensor got sucked out of my boat as I forgot it on the seat. How a 1lb weight the size of a tv remote gets picked up and sucked out is still a mystery to me. Bye bye $200 :( A buddy of mine on his XP and another buddy of mine on MY GTS were fooling around and somehow the XP's sponson got smashed on the bottom of the GTS hull. Much berating was dealt out by me, as I hate when people play that recklessly, esp. with my toys. To make matters worse, both of those guys got tickets for blowing through a no-wake zone as we were coming back. At least noone got hurt. I will be much more strict when I go out with a crowd.

The Good: My toys ran flawlessly and I enjoyed several days of riding, camping and cooking out on the water. Saw a lot of cool wildlife and had hours upon hours of fun. Had a lake party with a bunch of close friends on the water, hanging out on the Challenger, listening to the songs of our youth (you know the ones where everyone knows the words :) ) Picked up a new hobby as I went for a 35mi bike ride in an effort to find my lost EGT gauge. Didn't find it, but burned a lb of fat and got a new perspective/appreciation of the rural areas around where I live. Saw a breathtaking sunrise over the lake that made me want to be a morning person.

All in all, I wish it was still the weekend, I dont' feel like I've had my fill of boating :) Seadoos are just too fun!

My boat and ski's aren't even uncoverd yet.

First... the weather SUCKED in Pitt. (Cold) but at least it wasn't snowing, like in NY.

Second... I had my head in other people's boats trying to get finished with spring projects.

BUT... now, I'm all caught up, and I'm bringing my ski's home today. And, tomorrow, I will start to prep the boat !!!!!

Sounds like a action packed weekend. We have a 11 month old baby boy so camping isn't ideal for another year or two. Taking boat out is a little easier but love to when we can get my mom to keep him. Sucks about your sensor and GTS. Unfortunately people just don't take care of something that's not there's especially if they have had anything to drink. I have had several instances where I let a idiot friend ride my ski and many times sh!t happens. I've gotten more strict the older I get. Girls do fine usually but the guys like to try and show out and half time cuts it to close trying to splash somebody etc. Live and learn I guess. Sounds like u still had a good weekend. It was great here in Chattanooga area. Sunny and around 80 all weekend. Wish debri from all these storms would settle though. Junk everywhere in water

I HATE MN WEATHER!!!! Although the sun came out enough for me to do some serious damage cleaning with the pressure washer on anything within reach.

the weather here in Michigan sucked too....cool in the 60's so I cut the lawn before going to work (yes, work), then it's been raining ever since about 1:30pm Monday.....still raining now at 10:55 am Tuesday....

Need to fix the gel coat on my boat too, before dropping it into the water. Ski is still in the shed.........

maybe I need to retire (but still too young) and move to Florida on a permanent basis.

Glad I live in south for boating season. I went with friend of mine wake boarding in Colorado once. Man it was 75 sunny mid summer and everyone else was having a ball while I froze my ace off lol. Stinks about bad weather though

Beer Can Island

I went out with the family to beer can island in tampa bay. The weather was perfect (felt like 85 degrees)and the water was not rough.

now the bad. the whole island was surrounded by boats. Its a fairly decent size island and there were at least a hundred boats.

I had to circle and wait for some one to leave to get a space

really enjoyed it though. See the attached pics

Talk about a "toss in some fuel and go" my new to me 98 GTXL went AWESOME! I'm 300lbs and still got it to 56 on the dreamometer! Bought it with a fresh 20hr old rebuild (documented) and a 2010 trailer for a STEAL. Pulled the carbs, fixed the stuck throttle shaft, did the grey lines, oil lines, RAVES, and slapped it all back together by Sunday night (rained sat and sun) just in time to hit the river with the boys. Went great and everything works except a broken sponson and speedo sensor (worked only 35+ mph half the time). Some love with the pressure washer and it will be mint. Of course the RXT was a blast and even took some lovely ladies for some splash runs. Solid ending to an otherwise wet weekend but I was busy working away in the garage.

I used to frequent beer can years ago.. it got way too crowded so we don't go out there a whole lot anymore.

We didn't go to beer can island, but I do have to agree with you that it was an absolutely beautiful day. We launched out of William's Park and headed downtown to Rick's on the River for lunch. It was days like Monday that make living in Florida so wonderful.

usually beer can is not too bad especially on the south side. I guess with it being memorial weekend however brought out every one. As you can see from the pictures, I ended up on the only part of the island that has those fallen trees in the water. That was the only available space. lol Thats how crowded it was.

I only had a half tank of gas otherwise I would have just sped by beer can and gone to fort de soto.

fort de soto is much bigger and spread out. Now that they are charging and entrance fee of $5 per vehicle, it has reduced the number of visitors imo.
