I've got a few spots on my pump area where the black paint has flaked off. And since i'm mainly saltwater, i'd like to touch it up to minimize corrosion effects. I'm assuming i can't just sand it down and hit it with Krylon, cause i'm sure the water flow will rip it right off as soon as i hit the water. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would give it a light scuff with 600 wet dry sandpaper. Wet sand it to take the paint edges off( feather it ) than apply 2 light coats of primer, let it flash (dry) completely between coats like 30 minutes is real good. Than spray a good brand, like Krylon or Rustoleiun paint as the top coat letting it flash about 30 minutes between coats. than let it set at least over night or in the sun all day to fully cure and than install.
