How to test Auto Enrichment?

I've been noticing that my 210hp carbed engine has been a bit hard to start of late... But always starts... However when cold, I almost always have to give it 2 or 3 cranks. In between each crank, I wait about 15 seconds for the gravity feed auto enrichment to drain some gas from the top carb bowl into the throats of the others... As that is how I understood that system to work.

Before every cold start I turn the ignition to the ON position and let the auto enrichment to work its magic for 15-30 seconds.

I tested the voltage on the leads to the switch, and they do get 12v... Well almost 12v, meter was reading 11.8v. Even tho a reading directly on the brand new battery was reading about 12.7v.

I was wondering if this switch should make a click sound when it gets power or not... Or is there some other way to tell if it is working?

In the same "boat". The book says to disconnect both leads and test for voltage during start. Should initially see 25-50 VDC then 10-15 VDC. Also directly test the valve by touching the male end of the valve side to ground. The valve should click while the key is turned on. If you disconnect one of the hoses from the valve you should get fuel to drain out during this procedure. I need to do this as my 210hp also needs some cranking to start when cold. I have tried the manual button but that doesn't seem to help.

Well, my guess is that mine is not working at all... So with the ignition key off, I get 0v across the 2 leads. With the key on, I get 13v. When cranking, I get about 12v. So I don't get that little boost of 25-50v. Also I never hear it make that click sound when I touch the positive lead of the switch to ground.

The voltage spike is the transient voltage. You may not see it depending on your meter.

Pull the drain (feed hose) off, and put a length of hose on it. Put the power on it... and see if you can blow though it. (see if the valve is working)

Did as you said, sure enough, that switch does not work when 12v applied to its leads! Pulled the feed hose an they are open and free. Turn key on and no gas comes out! But when I push (and hold) that manual button on top... Sure enough I get some gas coming through!!!
